In 2010 more than 10,820 students were homeless,
and 685 students were homeless in Horry County.
| The
intent of this program is to provide educational,
informational, and prevention support
for runaway, homeless, street youth in
order to reduce the daily risks for these
youth and to convince and assist as many
as possible to utilize the available community
services to leave the street for a more
productive, safe life. 400+ homeless youth per year access this facility. 200 local youth participate in runaway prevention programs. |

Halloween Decorating Contest
Sea Haven, Inc. programs, Shelter Home, Transitional Living program, and Project Lighthouse/Street Outreach Center, held a second “Halloween” themed competition on Thursday, October 27, 2011. The event was created as an ongoing effort to promote staff morale and motivate youth participation. Scary music, ghosts, goblins, cobwebs, and spiders hung from every corner of Sea Haven’s domains.
Jodi Taylor and Ann Wilcocks from BB&T on Main Street, North Myrtle Beach were asked to judge the spooky competition. The Sea Haven Shelter Home was announced the “2011 Halloween Decoration Contest”winner. For more information about Sea Haven please call (843) 399-4045…if you dare!
