AMERICORPS


  Three full-time members work with youth in Sea Haven programs

AmeriCorps is part of a network of national service programs that connects Americans of all ages and backgrounds with opportunities to give back to their communities and their nation. Members receive a small stipend and a monetary Educational Award at the end of the service period.

The local AmericCorps members working for Sea Haven have been involved in project such as:
Serving on ‘street teams’ bringing services for ‘street’ youth to the areas where these youth congregate
Assisting in the after-school programs of art, reading, music, drama for children from the Boys and Girls Clubs
Organizing fund raising activities to benefit youth programs
Participating in public informational presentations about Sea Haven programs and youth risk situations
Helping to recruit and train youth volunteers for community service projects
